If there’s one berry with almost as much importance to the gin world as juniper, it’s definitely the sloe berry! Native to Europe, Western Asia & North Africa, the little bitter berry is rich in tannins, phenolic acids and flavonoids, which is what makes them an excellent remedy for dozens of different illnesses. That’s one of the main reasons why the British started steeping them with sugar and gin, creating a sweet liqueur with a high alcohol content – forever know as the Sloe Gin.
Our certified organic dried sloe berries are a perfect addition to your next sloe G&T, either just as a unique garnish, or even as a started for your very own homemade sloe gin!
